Join us in exploring Makerspaces and see how they are engaging library patrons.
What are MakerSpaces and how can they fit into your library? Join LACONI-RASS and LACONI-TECH and learn about new spaces where writers, crafters, artists and hackers and makers congregate and create.
Monica Harris, of Oak Park Public Library will share how Participatory Spaces fit with Library missions, and conduct a short tour of the Oak Park Public Library’s new Idea Box space.
Ridgeway Burns of Glen Ellyn Public Library will bring a MakerBot for show and tell. Ridgeway will share how he uses the MakerBot to do outreach.
Steve Teeri from the Detroit Public Library System has been running a very successful and cutting-edge makerspace for teens in Detroit, H.Y.P.E. Steve will tell us how H.Y.P.E was created and is working.
If your library is a LACONI member, you’re a member! Programs are $15.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members. Check our membership list if you’re not sure.
